“Because the night” is an exploration of darkness not as absence, but as a different way of seeing. Layers of deep green and blue-grey move through the composition, allowing forms to emerge without ever becoming completely defined. The painting holds that fleeting moment between recognition and uncertainty, when something feels familiar before you can quite place it.
