“Lonely Is the Night” considers solitude as a state of heightened perception. Fragments of mauve, burgundy and intense blue emerge from a darker ground, creating a surface that feels layered, tactile and slightly unsettled. Rather than depicting loneliness as absence, the work treats it as a space of heightened feeling, quiet, inward and unexpectedly vivid.
